The 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the only team event on the PGA Tour, and we’re putting our long-shot money on a duo that’s competed here together before. Here’s our pick, the Zurich Classic betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

Zurich Classic odds: Long-shot bet

Despite the very real prize money on the line, this week’s PGA Tour event is all about fun, too. And given the difficulties of predicting which teams will perform best in such a rare format, betting on the Zurich Classic should be about fun as well.

We have our eyes on the duo of Joel Dahmen and Denny McCarthy as our long-shot picks. Dahmen and McCarthy start the week with +4000 odds to win.

Each player is having a solid season, and both have shown incredible consistency in becoming cut-making machines. Out of 32 total starts between them this season, they’ve only recorded a combined seven missed cuts to go against five top-10s.

And not only do both players have extensive experience playing this event, they already teamed up with each other back at the 2018 Zurich Classic, where they finished 25th.

If you put $10 on Dahmen and McCarthy to pull off the victory this week and they do it, you’ll earn $400.

How last week’s long shot fared

Tom Kim came into the RBC Heritage playing well and ready to add to his PGA Tour win total. But with odds to win of +3500, he was a long shot, and his performance proved why.

Kim struggled to an even-par round on Day 1 that saw many players go low, then followed it up with a one-under 70 in the second round to fall one shot short of the cutline and produce our third long-shot MC of the season.
