While there are plenty of proven winners in the John Deere Classic field, such as Jordan Spieth and Ben Griffin, one promising young player is embarking on his pro career.
Former amateur star Jackson Koivun is making his official pro debut this week at TPC Deere Run.
Koivun broke onto the PGA Tour scene last year as an amateur, using sponsor’s invites to run up a stretch of solid results, including a T11 at the 2025 John Deere Classic followed by three straight top-6 finishes.
He competed in his final event as an amateur at the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, where he put together an impressive T23.
Koivun will tee off for his first round as a pro on Thursday at 8:35 a.m. ET alongside Spieth and Griffin.
You can watch the first round of the John Deere Classic on TV via Golf Channel beginning at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide exclusive early streaming coverage starting at 7:45 a.m. ET, as well as featured group and featured hole coverage.
