Just a few years ago, Bud Cauley was a forgotten name.

Now he’s right in the throes of PGA Tour competition.

Cauley was an amateur star, playing college golf at Alabama with Justin Thomas and became the 7th player to earn enough money on the PGA Tour to earn membership without going to Q-School in 2011.

Success didn’t materialize for Cauley as he found himself struggling to maintain his Tour card before a car crash in 2018 derailed his dream. Cauley didn’t play a professional event between September 2020 and January 2024.

But he reearned his card in 2025 and even played his way into the PGA Tour Signature events. This week at the RBC Canadian Open, he entered the final round just one off the lead as he seeks his first PGA Tour win.

“I don’t really want to think about that now. I guess we’ll find out when that day happens. I will say, just since I was injured and playing golf now and having gotten married and starting a family, my life — I think my perspective has changed and my priorities I think are in order,” Cauley said. “So it’s not the most important thing in the world to me, but it is very important. I work really hard at it, so that’s why I come out here and play is to try to win tournaments.”

Cauley got it done Sunday with a final-round 65 to win by two for his first PGA Tour victory in 283 starts.

With that, here is the complete payout breakdown for this week’s RBC Canadian Open, played at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario. The total purse is $9.8 million.
