Daniel Berger is having a pretty good week at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s playing for millions on two of the most beautiful courses in the world in Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, and he’s playing them well. He followed an opening-round 67 with a terrific 66 in Round 2 and sits near the top of the leaderboard on moving day.

He’s made a little history, too.

When Berger stepped to the tee at the par-4 4th on Saturday morning, just one person had driven the green on 4,272 tee shots since 2003. When he stepped off the tee, that number had grown to two.

Berger played his driver to perfection at the 300-yard par-4, striping a driver directly at the green, threading his ball through the narrow gap at the front of the green. When the ball reached its destination, it was just under 9 feet from the hole.

“What a tee shot that is!” exclaimed Nick Faldo.

“That gap is about six yards wide,” added on-course reporter (and Subpar co-host) Colt Knost. “That is impressive.”

When Berger arrived at the green, he calmly rolled in the putt for an eagle. It’s always a good week when you make history at Pebble Beach.
