Jon Rahm’s caddie fires back at rowdy crowd during LIV Golf event

Lost in the shuffle of his first-ever win with LIV Golf was Jon Rahm's caddie bad-mouthing a rowdy fan on Saturday

Jon Rahm validated his decision to join LIV Golf with his first-ever win as a member of the league on Sunday at JCB Golf & Country Club, but Rahm and his caddie, Adam Hayes, were also in the news a day earlier as they tried to tame a few rowdy fans on Saturday.

During the second round of the LIV Golf event in the UK, Rahm found himself in some thick cabbage on No. 16 and prepared for a pitch shot. As he assessed his lie and stood over his ball, a fan couldn’t hold back his excitement, er, chatter, and belted out the following, “You’re in the cabbage, Raaaahmbo!”

The interruption was enough to draw the ire of Rahm, causing him to back away, stare down the fan, and reset himself.

But just because Rahm was able to move on doesn’t mean his caddie, Hayes, was ready to let the rowdy fan off that easy. In the video below, shared by NUCLR GOLF’s Twitter, Hayes can be heard shouting some derogatory words at the spectator.

(Editor’s note: The video includes language that’s NSFW).

For those who missed Hayes’ response: “Yeah it’s gobbled up,” he said. “Yell louder when we’re in our f—— backswing, you d——-!”

Rahm bogeyed the hole, but it wasn’t anything that sent him into a downward spiral. He was able to collect himself enough to move up the leaderboard for the victory on Sunday.
