The PGA Tour Fall season is in full swing, which means PGA Tour simulator season can’t be far off. Less than three months, to be exact, as we learned the full TGL schedule Monday afternoon.
It all kicks off on Sunday, Dec. 28, just two days before Tiger Woods’ 50th birthday, when Justin Thomas’ Atlanta Drive take on Xander Schauffele’s New York Golf Club in a 3 p.m. start. There is just one NFL game to compete with during that time slot, although it’s a big one: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Buffalo Bills.
But the simulator golf league will have one major element working in its favor: network television. TGL will be broadcast on ABC for the first time that day. That Atlanta vs. New York matchup is a repeat of last season’s championship match.
Just as intriguing as a Sunday start during Week 17 of the NFL season is the second matchup, which takes place the ensuing Friday (Jan. 2). Boston Common Golf will take on LAGC at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, testing the audience for primetime — simulator golf on the eve of a weekend.
Golf fans looking to watch Tiger Woods will have to wait until Jan. 13, as Woods’ Jupiter Links team will have a few weeks off before its season debut. The season will mostly be played on Monday and Tuesday nights but will finish in a flurry with matches on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, March 1, 2 and 3.
TGL playoffs will then take place March 17, 23 and 24, with the majority of matches once again centered around the PGA Tour’s Florida Swing. You can find the entire schedule, matchup times and broadcast info below.
