The 2020 Tour Championship finally gets underway on Friday, September 4, at East Lake Golf Club, marking the end of another season on Tour and the culmination of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Here’s what you need to know to watch the first round.

Previewing Tour Championship Round 1

Dustin Johnson begins the week in first place in the FedEx Cup standings, but once the first shot is hit on Friday, the rankings go out the window, and the season-long competition all comes down to whoever wins the Tour Championship. But everyone will be attempting to chase down Johnson, who, thanks to his ranking, will start the tournament at 10 under.

DJ will have to be in good form from the get-go to claim his first FedEx Cup title on Monday. Jon Rahm, who bested Johnson in a playoff at the BMW five days ago, will start Friday’s first round two shots back, with Justin Thomas (seven under), Webb Simpson (six under) and Collin Morikawa (five under) also well within striking distance.

But those aren’t the only players Johnson has to fend off this week. Defending champion Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed or any other of the 30 competitors could erase DJ’s lead with one terrific round on Friday.

Below you will find everything you need to watch the first round of the Tour Championship Friday.
