Tiger Woods’ TGL debut starts with predictable walk-out song, Charlie cameo

Tiger Woods’ TGL debut finally arrived on Tuesday night at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., when his Jupiter Links Golf Club took on Los Angeles Golf Club.

As expected, the 15-time major winner and TGL co-founder made a memorable entrance that would have made The Undertaker proud, complete with a fitting, albeit predictable, walk-out song decision.

Woods’ entrance didn’t impress everyone, though. His 15-year-old son told ESPN’s Marty Smith that the entrance was a 4 out of 10 because his dad was “awkward.”

Charlie lent Tiger a hand during warm-ups, helping his dad get a read for TGL’s innovative putting green.

Tiger could have used Charlie’s help dialing in his wedges as the legendary golfer smoked a wedge on the second hole over the green and into the water, which led to a humorous reaction from Charlie in the crowd.

Tiger and Jupiter Links Golf Club didn’t get off to a hot start in their first-ever league match.

Woods threw down “The Hammer” on the first hole, but they were unable to capitalize.

LAGC quickly took a 3-0 lead through three holes after a “Hammer” win on Hole 3. Woods and Jupiter threw the “Hammer” on Hole 4, but more poor iron play and a missed putt from Woods saw his squad lose a third straight hole to fall down 5-0.

Tiger shook off the simulator nerves (joking) on hole 5 when he drained a putt to stop the bleeding and then stuffed a wedge on hole 6 to give Jupiter its first point.

An electric entrance, a humorous Charlie cameo, a gassed wedge and a clutch putt.

The start of Tiger’s TGL debut had a little bit of everything, which is exactly what the league needed.
