If this week’s U.S. Women’s Open host site, Pebble Beach, hasn’t already made it clear the tournament is serious about upping the status of women’s golf, the purse sure will.

After upping the purse to a record $10 million in 2022, the USGA has again increased the purse a further $1 million, now a women’s golf record $11 million.

Earlier this summer, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship upped its purse to match last year’s record $10 million, now the USGA is taking the record back. Furthermore, the increased purse also means an increased winner’s share that matches the record set last year by the CME Group Tour Championship.
